JUNG LOVE: This Week's Bonus Listener Q&A

    Hey Supporters,

Today we're discussing a question submitted by a $5-a-month supporter:

"I would love to hear your perspective on the symbolic meaning of money and capitalism. In my European context, it is more or less taboo to discuss salary, financial status, et cetera. Regarding capitalism, there seems to be a long European school of thought that emphasizes its negative effect on the arts and crafts and even personal morality."

JUNG LOVE: This Week's Bonus Dream Interpretation

JUNG LOVE: This Week's Bonus Dream Interpretation

    Hey Supporters,

This week, we're discussing a dream submitted by a $10-a-month supporter:

"I was in a large house with my peers, including my best friends from high school. We were fearfully awaiting the inevitable arrival of a psychopath. He was outside, probably in his 30s, and was a fitness expert or physical trainer and also a vegan.

I thought I could hide in a hallway while he went after someone else first, but as soon as someone let him in, a woman who was a friend in the dream but don't know in real life, he saw me and was ready to kill me first. He had a long knife like a sword blade, but resembling a kitchen knife. I was attempting to sword fight him, but I held a gallon of cow's milk in my hand. I think it was my left hand.

I felt terrified and quickly he sliced into my right forearm. My arm tingled and I became woozy. I knew I was dying. I found my old crew of best girlfriends from high school, and told them I loved them and that they meant everything to me and that they were my family, and that they'd never know how much they meant to me. They said, "What about your aunt and cousins? They are the women in your family."

I reminded them that my aunts never tried to have a relationship with me and that my relatives were never close. My friends have always meant the most. This is true in real life. My arm felt worse and pain set in. I became dizzy and weak and my vision was fading. I woke up feeling terror, panic and a numb arm. It took time for me to shake off those incredibly powerful emotions and sensations."

Psychodermatology: How Skin Communicates Unconscious Conflicts

Psychodermatology: How Skin Communicates Unconscious Conflicts

How do skin conditions give voice to silent suffering in our souls?
Our skin serves as a canvas for our emotional and psychological states, manifesting internal conflicts through visible conditions. The symbolic meaning behind skin conditions can reveal deep-seated emotional issues.  Self-inflicted lesions highlight an individual's internal turmoil, serving as a cry for help. We all understand how blushing and sweating provide outer clues about our psychological landscape. Skin, a boundary between ego and the external world, exists as a threshold organ where experiences enter us and responses are displayed. Applying Jung’s symbolic attitude to our body can lead us to hidden meanings in our skin that may release us from suffering.
Prepare to discover what your skin can reveal about your unconscious conflicts; how a symbolic interpretation of specific symptoms can lead to a meaningful dialogue with the unconscious; which therapeutic approaches can effectively decipher the language of skin symptoms; whether addressing emotional well-being can improve chronic skin issues; why some of us are more vulnerable to somatic symptoms like skin reactions…and so much more.

JUNG LOVE: This Week's Bonus Dream Interpretation

    Hey Supporters,

This week, we're discussing a dream submitted by a $25-a-month supporter:

"I'm working for a company. I'm second in command. The boss and I are going to meet with Bill Gates. I'm excited about this. I put on a more revealing outfit to impress Bill because he's single now. Something happens as we meet with him, and I plunge a nail or a stapler into his hand. I apologize profusely, but somehow we are connected over this. Things start to go well. He's very good looking. We plan to meet outside of work, and I look forward to doing so."

Smart and insightful

This podcast gives me so much. I love the content, but think it could be relevant to everyone, even if they don’t have an interest in psychology or Jung. It’s also very academic and intellectual. The three analysts are extremely bright and a joy to listen to. It’s refreshing how much respect and patience they show each other. Sometimes three voices can be too much, but it works brilliantly in their case. I learn a lot from the content and the way they treat each other. It’s also inspiring me to look deeper within and use my dreams as a tool.
