We talked about colonialism demonstrated in Dune and how it compares to historical colonialism in the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia). We compared the prophecies in Dune to Javanese prophecies and their influence in World War II and the Indonesian Revolution. Martin discussed the mental and physical skill needed in Fairbairn-Sykes knife fighting demonstrated in Dune (1984) and survival strategies and combat styles in the new Dune movies. We discussed psychological resilience, mental training, and more!
