#38 AMI MARTIN: THE MOMENT I DECIDED TO LIVE A LIFE OF PRACTICALITY, THE UNIVERSE WAS LIKE ‘NO, BITCH!’ HOW I SURVIVED AND BECAME A COACH BY MAKING A MESS‪.‬ The Punch Drunk Soul Podcast - Soul Alignment + Business Chats

Hi guys! We are back at it after a little Holiday Break! Welcome to the 2020 season of the Punch Drunk Soul podcast! I’m excited to bring you MORE amazing guest, more incredible, inspiring stories, and even more value to you guys this year in 2020.

My word for 2020 is joy. My goal this year is to feel more of it. To really experience more pleasure and joy and reap the benefits of everything I’ve accomplished in my business in the last 2 years. While many entrepreneurs mark their growth by increased revenue, this year I am going to mark my growth with how much joy I can feel WHILE growing my business at a sustainable rate and not burning out.

I’m excited to share my journey with you alongside the other amazing guests I’ll be bringing on the podcast this year.

To kick us off, I brought on a good friend and client, Ami Martin. Ami took Path to Freedom in the spring of 2019 and it’s been really fun to watch her continue her journey. Ami is a growth & relationship coach in both Seattle & Los Angeles who helps women go from anxious to confident AF in their dating lives.

I brought Ami on because she has a unique path in that once she realized what she wanted to do with her life - coach others - she gained the confidence to truly commit to it. She tells us in this episode she gave herself a commitment of 3 years which after year 1 turned into 10 years!

She has gone down the path of certification via Neuro Linguistic Programming so she’s going to share some of the tricks and tools she’s learned from that program as well as the lessons she’s learned along the way in her journey.

Ami’s story is one of hiding in fear for many years, taking the road of practicality and “safety” as many of us do in our 20’s and often 30’s and then she finally got the courage to start exploring. I love that she thinks of her journey as an experiment, not a destination. I know you’re going to love her approach to life and building a business.

One of my FAVORITE parts of this episode is when Ami explains what coaching is to her and how coaches are like modern day “elders” who guide people along their journey’s based on their own experience. You know how clans people used to sit around the fire and trade stories and learn about life, love, war, art, language and so many other things? Well, that’s what group coaching calls are these days!

If you’re a new coach who’s feeling insecure about coaching or charging money for your services you’re going to love this perspective Ami gives. It will open your eyes to the true value you’re providing.

If you enjoy this episode I’d love for you to let us know by sharing it on your Instagram stories and tagging us! I’m @Punchdrunksoul and Ami is @AmiMartinLove (Ami with an I).

If you’re interested in checking out the program Ami did with me, Path to Freedom Coach Academy, you can go to punchdrunksoul.com/pathtofreedom to get on the wait list!
