In a country obsessed with gossip, the great and the good fear one thing more than any other - scandal.
British scandals change the course of history. They bring down governments, overthrow the rich and cause the mighty to fall. Some are about sex, others about money. In the end, they’re all about power.
But often at the heart of a scandal, there are ordinary human stories. Stories of those caught up in the swirl of outrage.
Who was really to blame for what happened? Why did they do it? And when all is said and done, did anything really change?
From the creators of Business Wars, American Scandal and Ghost Story, comes British Scandal. Each week, hosts Alice Levine and Matt Forde delve into the murkier side of the British elite, from Phone Hacking to Profumo to the short-lived premiership of Liz Truss. Because sometimes the truth doesn’t set everyone free…

Customer Reviews
Surprisingly wonderful
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be crying with tears of laughter listening to a Russian spy mystery podcast. The presenters are witty and dry.
I highly recommend it!
Great stories but…
The stories are great and well told. However I found the frequent conversational interruptions by the hosts to be distracting and unnecessary. In the end I had to stop listening, hopefully future episodes will just narrate the stories as some are really interesting.
Stunning British Scandal
This show is brilliant. Using extensive research, great writing and the humour and presentation skills of the hosts, infamous situations are broken open for enlarged understanding. This also makes some of those situations more horrifying that the tabloids would originally have us believe! But the professionalism and style of this podcast leaves it to us the listener to make up our own mind and to keep following more leads should we be keen. Thanks a million Wondery. Like Alice often is, I’m hooked. 😎
