When freelance writer Louise Ellis disappeared after leaving her Ottawa home on April 22 1995, the person leading the search for her was her devoted partner, Brett Morgan. When he was approached by an aspiring private investigator named Marie Parent, the case suddenly took a very different turn…

Case 283: Kris Kremers & Lisanne Froon

When Dutch friends Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon set out for a six-week adventure in Panama in 2014, they were ready for the trip of a lifetime. But after failing to show up for a planned tour in the mountain town of Boquete, search parties sprung into action.

Had the two young women gotten lost while hiking the popular Pianista trail, or was something more sinister at play?

    Case 282: April Tinsley

*** Content warnings: Child victim, sexual assault ***

In 2004, several young girls around Fort Wayne, Indiana received handwritten letters threatening that they would be the next victim of a child killer.

Wow an eerily creepy case that I did not expect it to go in ways that it did. Very very sad all round for everyone involved. Not impressed with Jack and Jill’s mother’s behaviour, and I was wishing she’d get her comeuppance for being such a poor excuse…
I enjoyed the narration if he is a real person.

Used to love this show

This used to be my no. 1 true crime podcast but now it’s just adding attention to the American cases and ignoring NZ/AU cases like everyone else. I could forgive this because the storytelling is great BUT there’s too many ads and it just makes for a consistently interrupted listening experience, I’ve stopped listening altogether.

My Favourite True Crime

Being from NZ, it’s often a bit much listening to American true crime.

Unlike the US ones I don’t mind, this narrator has the ability to make it less about him and more about the stories in comparison to others.
