Mandy Duncan / formula + breastfed babies, co-sleeping, ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage

Motherness

In this episode, I speak with mum of three, Mandy Duncan about her newborn journeys with each of her children. Mandy talks about her first long labour which ended in an emergency c-section and her desire to have elective c-sections for her subsequent births - both times Mandy was already in labour having contractions but chose to proceed with the c-section. She speaks of her struggles with breastfeeding her first two children due to a lack of education and support around what was normal but goes on to share how she breastfed her third baby for a year. As a result, her approach to sleep with her third baby was different from the independence of her first two children and she talks about how she chose to feed-to-sleep and co-sleep with Oakly.
We speak at length about motherhood as a whole and she talks about the challenges having children placed on her marriage. She details the importance of learning to put herself first in order to save her marriage. Mandy also openly shares her experience with an ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage and explains how this gave her a new perspective on the Fourth Trimester her third time around.
The strength in Mandy's vulnerability as she shares is incredible. I hope you take something valuable away from Mandy's episode.
Thank you, Mandy. Thank you so much.
