The Highlight Reel Episode 32: Embarrassing situations

The Highlight Reel Episode 32: Embarrassing situations

This week on The Highlight Reel, there's a bit of a theme around embarrassment.

First —in an out of the mouths of babes scenario— one parent's weekend activities were revealed at Simon's grandson's first day of school. Then we learn about Simon's undies being on display at the airport, and finally how an innocent wink at a female co-worker went wrong.

Si and James got stuck into the thorny old issue of hospital parking and the fines incurred when you are already stressed.

The pair asked how long household appliances should last?

Wellington Mayor Tory Whanau’s ADHD diagnosis sparked a very interesting discussion about the increasing number of people being diagnosed with it later in life.

Plus, just how relevant is Shakespeare in 2024?

The Highlight Reel Episode 31: Budget 2024, Smith and Caughey's and Air New Zealand

The Highlight Reel Episode 31: Budget 2024, Smith and Caughey's and Air New Zealand

This week on The Highlight Reel, it was all about the Budget and online the 'tax calculator'. Si & James put the call out to the listeners, whether or not they are happy with the 'fiscally' conservative budget.

Surprising news around the closure of Smith and Caughey's in Auckland and their famous Queen St store... but is anyone really surprised? Who actually shops at department stores anymore?

Simon had trouble getting his 'HUGE' refund back from Air New Zealand, so their customer service team called the show to help.

Plus, the guys discuss whether or not hairy men are the hottest thing in town - Simon also had a strange admission about his body hair.

The Highlight Reel Episode 30: Roadside drug testing and first home grants

The Highlight Reel Episode 30: Roadside drug testing and first home grants

This week on The Highlight Reel everything from the price of chocolate to wasting money on a carwash just before it rains.

Simon started watching the Ashley Madison docuseries after being talked into it by James and he didn't like it. It gave him nightmares.

A couple of Government announcements got the phones ringing this week. First was roadside drug testing then the ditching of the first home buyers' grant.

Fires in rubbish trucks thanks to incorrectly disposed batteries ignited talkback as did stories of assaults in city and town centres just hours before the death of a 16-year-old in Dunedin.

And what is that Si is doing every day that bores James and producer Tyler?
