Body Composition: Everything you need to know (and consider)

We are covering all things body composition

Are you using body composition as a performance measure?

Body composition is often sold to us incorrectly. We find that many of our athletes strive to achieve body composition goals with the aim of improving their performance. However, pushing for small incremental body composition changes can actually greatly undermine your performance if done incorrectly!

Tune in today to find out what this means to YOU!

Supporting your body through pregnancy, birth & beyond with Physiotherapist Rebecca Martin

Supporting your body through pregnancy, birth & beyond with Physiotherapist Rebecca Martin

This waffle is all about sharing stories to help you become empowered, confident, and curious.

This one is a very special episode around female health with Beck Martin (@womenshealthphysiotherapy). Beck is a female health physio specialised in exercise prescription for pregnancy and after birth. We have been inundated with requests to find someone for our waffle that covers these topics. They are simply not spoken about enough and I wish we had covered even more in this podcast.

Often what we learn about pregnancy is all about pregnancy and birth but we don’t cover off on what happens after. The impact on our health. The impact on our bodies. The impact on our mental health.

Yes, complications like incontinence and prolapse are common, but they are not normal.

These complications are not something that you should just accept and live with.

This is an episode very close to my heart for reasons that you will understand when listening through.

Whether you’re someone considering having a baby, currently pregnant, or with a young bub, I know you will love this podcast

As always, we would love to know what you think!

The Power of Food with Alice Zaslavsky

The Power of Food with Alice Zaslavsky

This week’s very special waffle guest as part of world food day is Alice Zaslavsky (AKA aliceinframes). So many of you reach out to us every day feeling overwhelmed and guilty with not knowing how to eat anymore. Alice has been instrumental in helping people build curiosity, excitement, and confidence in the kitchen. Because food is so much more than nutrients. It’s there to nourish, satisfy, and most importantly, be enjoyed.
Alice does NOT hold back in this pod. She brings some amazing revelations around how we should be consuming our information on food. We also touch on the importance of the environment in building positive food relationships that extend beyond the numbers. And finally, we discuss how we should be talking about and offering food to our kids.
Because "Learning to understand food - the way it makes our bodies feel, how it connects to the world around us - should be just as important as learning to read and write." – AZ

Making Change Feel Easier with Social Psychologist, Emily Balcetis

Professor Emily Balcetis is a social psychologist from New York University. She has been in her role for over 20 years while studying the factors behind really drives success. In this podcast, we talk through why we don't necessarily follow through with our goals after we commit to achieve them. We discuss how perception and the role of visual cues have a massive impact on behaviour change and formation. Most importantly we explore how to reduce friction and make behaviour change feel less difficult. Not only is this super valuable to the everyday active individual, but also to the practitioner wanting to instil change in their clients.
