I first met Seth MacFarlane in 1994 when he was in college with my brother, Patrick, at the Rhode Island School of Design. I acted in Patrick’s films and Seth was his freakishly-talented and hilarious buddy. Seth and I became friends and I later helped him with some jokes for the Family Guy pilot presentation. When he sold the series, he invited me to write jokes and create characters for the show.

We got together in my office recently and discussed our long friendship and many other things, including Family Guy and Seth’s long list of other creative projects. We also talked about my wonderful and talented brother, Patrick. I included a student film of Patrick’s, in which Seth starred. I also dug up some old, behind the scenes clips from season one of Family Guy. We talked about my recent ayahuasca experience and the insights I gained. We discussed kindness and the need for apolitical humor in this tense time. We also had some surprise guests drop in to say hello… none other than Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood. Let’s just say that this is the best podcast episode in the history of podcasts. Enjoy!
