What to Do When a Partner Pulls Away

What to Do When a Partner Pulls Away

In today's episode, I'm sharing some thoughts on how to navigate a partner pulling away. If you're someone with anxious attachment patterns, a partner's withdrawal or disengagement can feel extremely distressing - and yet, many of our go-to strategies for managing that distress can ironically have the effect of pushing someone further away.

    We'll cover:
what to do when someone pulls away in an early dating contextwhy we feel drawn to pursuing connections with people who are inconsistent how to navigate a partner repeatedly leaving and coming backwhat to do when a long-term partner is emotionally withdrawn or distantFurther Links & Resources

    Self-Soothing for Anxious Attachment

    Self-Soothing for Anxious Attachment

In today's episode, we're talking all about self-soothing and anxious attachment. For most anxiously attached folks, self-soothing and self-regulation can be a real struggle. This typically shows up as an over-reliance on others (often a partner) to be our sole source of safety and reassurance when we experience emotional distress, and an accompanying sense of helplessness and panic if and when they are not available to perform that role.

    We'll cover:
why anxiously attached people struggle to self-regulatehow an inability to self-soothe impacts our relationshipsmindset shifts and practices to start building your self-soothing toolkit⭐️ Last chance to sign up for Healing Anxious Attachment ⭐️

4 Common Misconceptions About Avoidant Attachment

In this week's episode, I'm joined by my partner Joel and we're exploring some common misconceptions about avoidant attachment. Avoidant attachment is frequently misunderstood and misrepresented in a lot of online content, and it's so important to me to dispel some of those portrayals and offer something more humanising and more honest about what's going on for avoidant folks.

    We cover misconceptions around:
avoidant people not wanting to be in relationshipsavoidant people only caring about themselvesavoidant people never experiencing anxiety in their relationshipsavoidant people being unable to changeFurther Links & Resources

New path discovered :)

Thank you Stephanie for doing what you’re doing. It has been a huge shift in my self development. I have been on a therapy for few years now and I definitely did seen the improvement but your show opened my eyes on things I couldn’t see or admit because accepting them felt like it’s a failure. But somehow the way you talk about anxhiious attachment is so uplifting for a change. People always say “you can’t be doing this, this is wrong, that’s why you’re unhappy, care for you” but it’s not like we are choosing deliberately to be this way. Most of us including be just don’t understand. And seeing our attachment as a bad attitude or something that cause us troubles was not a way for me to finally get through it. You were the first one I’ve heard talking about us as a lovely cute people. And more of seeing all those things we do from different perspective, without judgment. It made me full of hope and excitement about improving myself. And seeing all those flaws are actual opportunities for my self growth, and as a way to be grateful to have them because I can grow so much better. You were a real change in my life and I am forever grateful for what you gave me and I’m still looking forward for more. You are my guiding angel through this transformation. Helped me see that the things I’m doing or the reason I want people so much in my life, doesn’t come from weakness or disability to manage my own life, but that’s just how the look from the outside, but the truth is there’s a strength there, because all those things we do in order to make something work (relationship) are our body response to make ourselves survive and be happy, just using old wrong patterns. But looking at this that way gives me a believe there’s so much strength in me in all this that with right tools can be shifted into my own self. And I’m just so looking forward to finally meet someone that I’m actually ready to meet. Thank you Stephanie, you are a gem. 💎
