This podcast has helped me so much. I’m 7 months pregnant and pretty clueless about everything. I now have specific questions to ask my doctor and items to get. It’s insightful in a very interesting way. Can’t wait to listen to more.

I was feeling so overwhelmed and under prepared at the thought of becoming a mom. This podcast landed right in the middle of the pandemic as I was expecting my first baby and it was a TOTAL lifesaver. Christy has put together such a professional production and I have loved every single one of the episodes. I felt so much more prepared during my birth experience than I would have had I not listened to this podcast and taken advantage of all the resources on the Birth Show website (check it out!). Then, as a new mom, trying to process my own difficult experience giving birth with an unplanned C-section, I came back to the show during those late night feeding sessions and was very comforted hearing the stories of other moms. I felt so supported and cheered on! Christy is such a kind, engaging host and you will feel so empowered after hearing these interviews. 💛

This podcast has it ALL! If you are at all curious about birth—as a person who might (or has) experience(d) birth, someone who is adjacent to birth (a partner, friend, or support person), or someone who just likes to hear wild stories—give this podcast a listen. I thought my story was pretty unusual: I am 45 yo and 2 weeks away from having my first child, who was conceived naturally. As this pregnancy was extremely unexpected, I didn’t know what I was about to experience! I started listening to the podcast in my first trimester, to try to orient myself with the birth experience. But I didn’t expect that I would be so quickly hooked on hearing all these different birth stories! It has been comforting to hear about the common challenges of birth, and also liberating to learn how very unique and different everyone’s story really is. It gave me a lot of trust in the fact that my story, while unusual, is not anything I need to figure out—but something that I just need to experience and appreciate. What I love about this podcast is that it is driven by a host who is curious, open, and interested. Listening to Christy talk with people about their perspectives on birth has been a wonderful way to experience many different stories, and to open-heartedly venture into a place where stories are told (and heard) without judgement. It’s helpful if you’re trying to build your own understanding about birth, and it’s also a great place to just hear great storytelling. The podcast typically features one birth story an episode, but there are also episodes that tackle various birth-related topics such as fatherhood, pain management, and doula support (amongst others). It’s smart, fun, and I expect to continue listening, well beyond my due date.

I really enjoy this. So much good information. I definitely would have appreciated the info before I had my first baby. The host is fantastic.
