The New York Mystery Machine

New York? Mystery? In the same sentence??? Immediately yes. Sold.

So, I waited until I heard every available episode to leave a review. I can say without a doubt that THIS PODCAST IS AWESOME! It’s the perfect companion for household activities and driving. While you’re doing something, go on a mystery with Adam and Christina! Their chemistry is great. It’s like hanging out with two good friends who have a good story. Also, they can back it up with hard facts. Can’t wait to hear the next episodes and bummed that I now have to wait a week like everyone else for one. P.S. Christina, you’re a saint for putting up with Adam (heheheheheheh) Thank you both for all the hours of enjoyment you have given me! :-)

I said to myself, “Self, it’s time to leave a review for these lovely humans.” So here we are. This is a really fun show with great hosts. I love mysteries and true crime, but sometime too much makes me feel a lil depressed. Listening to Adam & Christina is a bit of a breath of fresh air in a genre that can be so heavy. I’ve been listening to the NYMM for just over a year now, and it’s such a fun podcast that I went back to binge-listen from the very beginning. Adam and Christina try (and succeed!) at making crimes, especially historical crimes (murders, heists, disappearances, spies!), in New York fun to listen to with humor, improv, and character voices. They also cover cryptids, poltergeists, ghosts, possessions, aliens, cults and more! Did you know that Men in Black is based on happenings in New York?! I didn’t until I listened to that delightful episode! Did you know New York has its own, arguably superior, Loch Ness monster named Champy? Did you know New York had a female serial killer, possibly the first female serial killer? Did you know that Twin Peaks is based off of a mysterious death in NY? Listen for those and soooo many more! It’s always a delight, even when they cover the tougher topics, and they’re so good about trigger warnings on episodes that may be hard to listen to. I genuinely adore this podcast and cannot recommend it highly enough!!! 💕
