WHY OF THE PODCAST/WHAT WILL WE COVER • This podcast aims to bring about discussions that can help athletes reach their potential • Avoid injury and poor performance, better manage themselves and perform at the highest level they can • Figure out what drives them – mental/emotional/spiritual • How to integrate themselves through the: o Physical – health, exercise, rehab, conditioning o Mental – self talk, mindset, reframing thoughts, working with good/bad thoughts o Emotional – how to work with what drives you on a deep level, re-wire emotional patterns for optimal performance o Spiritual - understanding what drives you from a deeper level – what is beyond the competition WHO IS IT FOR • Individual and athletes that are wanting to reach their potential in sports and in life • All athletes will benefit from this but a greater bias towards combat sports

Today we cover: CHEK approach - goals/dreams and values - outcome/process goals - focusing on what you do want vs what you don’t want Physical training sessions - working out/working in Health as the foundation for performance Life as movement - from the womb, infant development, to walking to strength and conditioning - the importance of infant development from a movement development perspective and also emotional correlations Assessment and goals as the basis for the program - where is the person at relative to where they need to be, what needs stretching, what needs strengthening, biomotor ability strengths and deficits Inner unit/outer unit integration Structuring the session - warmup, corrective stretching/mobilisations, strength/hypertrophy, cool down Exercise selection - planes of movement, stability demands, rotational, unilateral/bilateral,  Building strength/hypertrophy - choosing reps, sets, loads, tempo How do we approach periodisation effectively? Concept of deloading - how and when should we deload?
