(I know it sucks!) But on a positive note, we share how to increase your chances and your evaluation and guide you through the different steps of a funding journey and what progress you need to show at every stage.  Julia also shares all the questions that you should ask an investor before investing in your company and we also uncover the VC's secret CRM system about you… We also share ONE mistake a lot of founders and probably you are doing in investor meetings and what you should focus on in a recession… Julia is the CEO of SSE Ventures - the venture capital fund of the Stockholm School of Economics, investing in startups admitted to the startup incubator of the business school. She has a background as the CEO of SSE Business Lab, where she has coached 150+ startups on fundraising, growth marketing and sales during her 5 years in the position. Prior to that, she co-founded the event ticketing platform Simply Events, and worked with growth at multiple startups. Julia is an active angel investor in startups like imagiLabs and Relox Robotics and sits on the board of horsetech startup Ridely. We also talk about the startup incubator programs being “one size fit all” and that it is made for a male technical founder. We discuss what Femtech is and also contextual femtech, a threat to women's wellbeing that is not necessarily connected to the physical body. We also discuss why femtech startups are struggling with raising money and that not everyone wants equality and if we all wanted it we would already have it.  Malin is a femtech supporter, startup enthusiast, angel investor & creator of human life.     Today's guest is the amazing Maria Hedengren. In this episode we talk about building a startup in a crisis. We discuss different strategies and the importance of focusing on your core business. We also talk about thinking big and to be prepared to scale your business from the start. We talk about scalable leadership and stereotypes of the perception of female leaders. We also cover factors that Maria is taking into consideration when she is investing in startups as an angel investor and she also shares her best startup advice.  Maria has extensive experience from executive leadership positions in international corporations. Companies that have been in rapid growth through transformation and digitalisation of traditional, analogue or brick and mortar industries. Where success is built on use of massive amounts of data, technology innovation and an agile company culture with value driven leadership. She has scaled both public and private tech companies and expanded them internationally. She has been leading private funding rounds as well as IPOs. Her experiences include positions such as CFO of iZettle just before their IPO when they were acquired by PayPal and CEO of Readly as it IPOed in 2020. Today she spends her time working in a number of non-executive boards, coaching and advising start-ups and scale-ups and doing angel investments.
