Our 41st episode(!) sees us heading into the warmer weather on a heater! Of course we've got all the usual great sports  history content, with cool stories about Pat Riley, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Pat Lafontaine, Rickey Henderson and Jean Beliveau. Plus, fun details about the futility of the Hartford Whalers, some Kentucky Derby trivia tidbits and a hilarious story about Pirates pitcher Dock Ellis (no, not the one about him pitching while on LSD - it's another one!). Inspired by Dock's chicanery, we welcome Nick Dika to the show. Nick is a founding member of The Arkells - one of Canada's greatest bands of the last few decades- and is a big baseball fan. He's also a salt-of-the-earth guy who joined us from his parents' kitchen to help sort out this episode's DORK DRAFT about which MLB players we'd most like to hit (or at least brushback) with a pitch. He's very low-key funny and baseball savvy, and we know you'll enjoy hearing the four of us banter on about who was baseball's biggest jerk. It's available everywhere you get your podcasts and on YouTube and please follow us on IG @thisdayinsports8 and let us know what you think. Happy May, everyone!

Fore! This Day In Sports drops another above-par episode today, and everyone out there in podcast land can do a golf clap to celebrate. Great laughs and great content about legendary names like Steph Curry, Jack Nicklaus, Warren Spahn, Kevin Costner and Bobby Hull. Plus: new ballparks, snowball fights, goalies scoring goals and an umpire you actually wanted to cheer for! Plus, with this being Masters week we've tailored our DORK DRAFT to be about the best fictional golfers of all time. We've also asked legendary comedy couple Naomi Snieckus (@snieckus) and Matt Baram (@mattbaram) to decide which of us picked the best foursome. Matt and Naomi are two of the funniest people on earth and have performed all over the US and Canada over the last two decades. After this episode you'll end up wanting them to come with you to keep you in stitches when you head out on the links this spring. Get it wherever you usually get podcasts (or on YouTube) and find us on Instagram @thisdayinsports8 to give us your feedback.

It's the day after April Fools and we've officially entered the sweet spot of a sports fans' year - MLB, NHL, NBA,  the Final Four, Wrestlemania, the PGA and LPGA  - it all happens this time of year and that means plenty for us to talk about. This episode features fantastic facts and feats from fellows like Russell Westbrook, Zack Greinke, Cecil Fielder, Lawrence Taylor and Guy Lafleur as well as a some unforgettable  NCAA hoops national championship games. Also for the first time Matt, Sandy and Mike will be DORK DRAFTING into the future  (not the past)! With baseball season starting this week we will be making our predictions for who we think will win the major awards and the World Series and we've got an unbelievably qualified guest to review our picks. Steve Gardner, baseball writer and fantasy expert for USA Today, returns to the show and tells us which one of us most resembles Nostradamus. Make sure you catch this one - there will be plenty of material to mock us with come October. Catch us on YouTube or wherever else you listen to your podcasts. IG: @thisdayinsports8.

What better way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day than to join the four of us for a fresh new episode? This one's got lots of great stuff about Michael Jordan buying an NBA team, Lindsey Vonn becoming the GOAT, Maurice Richard causing riots in Montreal, the biggest upset in March Madness history, the UConn women's team being historically dominant AND a landmark Wrestlemania main event. Curious? Yeah, I thought so. Plus, this week has one of our greatest guests yet.  Olympic gold medallist Jon Montgomery (@jonmonty12), a Manitoba native and now the long-running host of Amazing Race Canada,  joins us for a hilarious discussion and debate about this week's DORK DRAFT about who the greatest athletes in the history of Manitoba were. Jon is a deeply funny, humble and candid guest and he really gets the tenor of the show. We all became best friends instantly.

Finally, February is finished! Let's celebrate the approach of Spring together with an hour full of sports geekiness! Today's episode is fresh with great stories about Wilt Chamberlain, Teemu Selanne, Jack Nicklaus, Seabiscuit and the Giants (barely) staying in San Francisco. Plus, fascinating little stories about a (semi) famous collapse on the Pro Bowlers' Tour, a fistfight at Mets' Spring Training,  Mario Lemieux finishing his chemotherapy in style and the NBA's leading scorer from the 1980's (it's not who you think). Plus, we did a DORK DRAFT (tm) about our favourite horse names from the American Triple Crown races over the years - and there are some doozies! Joining us to judge who picked the best names are  comic geniuses Aurora Browne (@alolabrowne) - who co-created Baroness Von Sketch Show and Kris Siddiqi (@thesiddiqs)  from The Boys and Molly's Game. Each of them are hilarious and irreverent on their own - but together they're perfect for this show. Available everywhere you get podcasts.  Also - please engage with us on IG  - direct all your questions, comments, disagreements, suggestions and opinions @thisdayinsports8. We gotta get the clicks!! (That's what the kids say, right?)

    February 21

Two episodes in less than one week?? What a work ethic these men have! As we stare into the February sports abyss (no more football, March Madness still a month away), this episode will cure you of your winter blues. It's got great stuff about Steinbrenner and Yogi, Jimmy Connors, Hayley Wickenheiser, Ray Bourque, Ted Williams and Michael Jordan as well as great nuggets about names and facts you might not know like Dick Button, Ray Sheppard, Keith Acton, the horrible '95-'96 Sixers, the magic of the Air Bud film series and Anderson Varejao's horrible haircut.  Plus - we have an bonus for this DORK DRAFT (tm) that's almost too good to be true : Canadian comedy legend Ron James came on with us to judge which Winter Olympic events are the most dangerous and terrifying. We can safely say you won't hear anyone funnier on any podcast or talk show you hear this month. Ron is a big sports fan and and old friend of Sandy and Matt's and the laughs flow freely here as he riffs on the olympics and his own semi-glorious sporting history. It's can't miss content. Get it anywhere you find your podcasts or watch us on YouTube. Check us out on IG at @thisdayinsports8 as well. Stay warm, everyone!
