Episode 85- REPLAY EPISODE: Validation Detox

This is a valuable replay of Episode 4- Have Your Own Back. Eveything Else Is A Bonus External validation can feel good in the moment, but when we rely on it for our self-worth, it creates frustration, resentment, and emotional suffering. In this episode, I introduce the concept of a Validation Detox—a process to stop seeking external approval and start building the self-love and empowerment you deserve. What We Cover: 1.What is Validation and Why Do We Seek It? The psychology of validation and how it connects to our need for belonging and esteem. Why we often give away the responsibility for our worth to others. 2.How External Validation Shows Up in Your Life: Common behaviors like overachieving for praise, difficulty setting boundaries, or constant comparison to others. Everyday examples, from posting on social media to seeking compliments for reassurance. 3.The Validation Detox Process: Step 1: Awareness—identify where you're seeking external validation in your life. Step 2: Interrupt—pause the habitual behaviors that seek validation from others. Step 3: Validate Yourself—practice self-affirmation with thoughts that empower you. 4.The Byproduct of Self-Validation: How validating yourself leads to self-love, empowerment, and unshakable confidence. Why external validation becomes a bonus instead of a necessity. Key Takeaways: Your worth isn't determined by others—it's a decision you make about yourself. Interrupting validation-seeking behaviors is hard, but it's the first step to empowerment. Self-validation is the foundation of a life filled with love and less drama. Actionable Insight: Write a list of the ways you seek external validation, then practice pausing those behaviors. Replace the need for approval with the affirmation: “I've got my own back, everything else is a bonus.” A Warm Invitation: Ready to start your Validation Detox? Episode 79- Feel Your Emotions

Feel Your Emotions Hi, beautiful friends! This week on More Life, Less Drama, we're diving deep into something we all experience but often try to avoid—our emotions. If you've been feeling a lot lately, this episode is for you. In this heartfelt episode, I'm addressing the questions I hear so often: Why do I feel like this? Why can't I move on? Why can't I just reframe my feelings and do something different? Here's the truth: emotions are part of the human experience. Life is about feeling the full spectrum, from joy and bliss to hurt and frustration. It's not about avoiding these feelings but learning how to process them in a way that serves you. Key Takeaways: You can't avoid feeling emotions: Positive emotions fade, and so do negative ones, but only when we allow ourselves to feel them fully. What you do with your emotions is in your control: Instead of suppressing or avoiding emotions, try processing them—sit with them, acknowledge them, and let them pass through you. The power of breaking the cycle of emotional stacking: Negative emotions can pile up, creating a heavy stack that feels overwhelming. By sitting with one emotion at a time, you can break this cycle and avoid spiralling into anger or frustration. The practice of emotional awareness: Notice your physical reactions and give yourself grace. Growth comes when you can hold space for discomfort and work through it. Actionable Exercise: Ask yourself these two questions: How do I feel right now? How do I want to feel? Then, choose an emotion you want to experience and practice shifting your focus to thoughts and actions that align with it. Final Thoughts: This week's episode is like a warm hug for your heart. It's an invitation to embrace where you are, feel your emotions deeply, and move forward with grace and compassion for yourself. Let's normalise processing emotions instead of rushing past them. If this episode resonated with you, I would love it if you left a review on your podcast app. Your feedback helps more people discover the show and join this journey.
