While You Were Streaming: A Yellowjackets Podcast

I specifically started listening to this Yellowjackets podcast because the hosts are gay. I feel like so many Yellowjackets podcast ignore the queer aspects of the show. Emily and Fiona really love Yellowjackets and really do the show justice with thier podcast.

The hosts often interject with ideas and theories from a young, gay and/or female eye. This varying insight has me, a 48yo straight man that is obsessed with Yellowjackets, rethinking some ideas and theories I have concocted about the show. Keep up the great work and really hope to hear you break down season two soon.

SPOILERS: I love YJ and I love seeing the queer perspective the hosts give. However I did stop listening. They are constantly saying how little faith they have in the writers, stating that everything is a plot hole. The women really do not give the writers any credit! Like, just because a plot was not totally dished out on a platter in front of you doesn’t mean it’s a plot hole or that the writers were being lazy. Also the way they reacted to the Jackie and Travis scene during Doomcoming, as if it was completely consensual, really made me sick to my stomach. As a queer person I like that the hosts are bringing their queer experiences and insight to the characters; after a while though I was like “okay but not everything has to be gay”. I like the podcast, I had fun listening to it, but I had to say “enough is enough” and put it down because I was just getting angry every time I listened. Call me a hater if you want, but I can not be the only one who thought these things…
