Homebrewed Christianity
Our goal is to bring the wisdom of the academy's ivory tower into your earbuds. Think of each episode as an audiological ingredient for your to brew your own faith. Most episodes center around an interview with a different scholar, theologian, or philosopher.

Excellent interesting and informative podcast. It’s usually fun, serious, informative, interesting, challenging and often moving all at the same time. I’m a late boomer cradle but highly disgruntled (former?) Catholic. Tripp and his colleagues and guests have greatly broadened and integrated my worldview. Worth your time ( and $ support!) Peace! Eye-opening Talk with “Life After Doom” Author Brian McLaren
May 13
Tripp Fuller features fresh perspectives in discussing “Life After Doom” with groundbreaking author and leader Brian McLaren. Christians need to learn much more about how the “Empire” nature of the West has shaped modern Christianity and led to the toxic and destructive legacy of existential ecological crisis.
Same toxicity as evangelicals just different politics

I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because I really do appreciate and enjoy the historical criticism, incites and theological perspectives I had not been exposed to before and some of the guests like John Dominic Crossan. But then you listen more and you learn that Tripp and his friends all live in an academic echo chamber and are every bit as toxic, intellectually dishonest, and hypocritical as the fundamentalist evangelical cult I was raised in. I was excited to discover this podcast along with a couple of others at first because I did go down a deconstruction journey from deep Southern Baptist roots. It’s just so disappointing and frustrating when Tripp and his guests talk about things with such certainty that they are quite obviously unqualified to address. I listened because I’m looking for people more educated than me in Biblical historical criticism and non penal substitutionary atonement theology, not to hear people less educated than me in business, politics, or technology moan about it. They have the same disease as the Jerry Fallwells of the world just a different manifestation. They preach love and tolerance and caring for the marginalized etc. but then you listen to them and they really mean love and tolerance and caring for people who agree with their politics. Those who don’t are the problem, same as the evangelicals I ran away from. I was hopeful to just find some normal ‘Christians’ or people interested in ancient religious traditions who could be respectful to everyone, even those who don’t agree with them. These are not those people.
