The First Tank Attack in History: Flers–Courcelette, 15 September 1916
Dawn on the Somme, 15 September 1916. At 06:20, the whistles blew and men climbed from their trenches into the attack. What happened that day has been remembered as both a marvel of invention and a muddled gamble. Today, we’ll unpack the reality behind the myth.
