In this episode we have the immense honor to speak with Melissa and Natalia – the co-founders and co-editors of Mother Tongue Magazine. 

In our conversation, we explore all sorts of themes orbiting the concept of mother. From the inspirations that shaped the origins of Mother Tongue to their editorial approach of embracing the wholeness of the experience of motherhood – Melissa and Natalia are asking questions from the lens of motherhood that we should all be asking, regardless of gender, orientation, or parental status.

Melissa Goldstein is a California-based lifestyle writer and editor. She has contributed to T Magazine, WSJ Europe, British GQ, Sunset, Intelligent Life, SPIN and Lonny Magazine, and has worked on staff as an editor at Nowness, California style magazine C, online design publications MyDomaine and Lonny. She also co-wrote the Abrams book ABODE with the founders of General Store, and Ikebana Unbound with San Francisco’s Studio Mondine. 

Natalia Rachlin is a freelance journalist and editor, covering design, architecture, art and interiors for publications including The New York Times, T Magazine, WSJ. Magazine, Wallpaper*, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, and ARK Journal. She is also the Design Editor-at-Large for the digital storytelling platform, NOWNESS. She was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, spent many years in New York and London, and currently lives in Houston, Texas with her family.
