    # 537 - The BIG Visceral FAT mistake people make

    We all know about the fat underneath the skin, but how many of us are aware of the other kind of fat that can have serious health consequences, visceral fat. This kind of fat lies around our internal organs and shockingly, you can have it in large amounts without even knowing its there. It is the kind of fat that lends itself to the term skinny fat .. that is , people who are thin on the outside but are fat on the inside. Visceral far is dangerous for our health because its metabolically active and not in a good way, it also promotes systemic inflammation and contributes to chronic disease like type 2 diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure. In this episode I detail symptoms or warning signs of having high levels of visceral fat. I also discuss how to get rid of viscreal fat through behavioural and dietary changes.
