    In this episode of the Brawn Body Health and Fitness Podcast, Dan is joined by Chris Hays to discuss general physical prep / programming for athletes in addition to what it means to pursue mastery in coaching, and more.

    Chris Hays is a Strength and Conditioning specialist who holds a CSCS, FMS lvl 2, FRS FRC & FRA certifications, and CAFS. Chris played college basketball for Slippery Rock from 2012-2015 and graduated from Slippery Rock with his Bachelor's in Exercise Science in 2015. Chris later earned his Master's in Exercise Science from George Washington University in 2017. Chris has experiences as a Graduate Assistant for George Washington University, Performance Fellow at the University of Louisville, Performance Coach for the LA Dodgers, Director of Basketball Performance and Director of Sports Performance for Coppin State University, Head Basketball Strength & Conditioning Coach for Drexel University, & most recently Director of Basketball Performance for Jacksonville University.     Dr. Justin Tallard is the MiLB Rehab Coordinator for the Philadelphia Phillies. Justin completed his Sports Physical Therapy residency at Houston Methodist where he worked with Rice University Athletics, the Houston Astros, and the Houston Dyanamo and Dash. He is Board Certified as a Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS), and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Justin graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2017, and his Bachelors degree in Sport Science and Spanish from Loras College in 2014.     Jeff Kryglik: Strongman Training Without Strongman Equipment

    In this episode of the Brawn Body Health and Fitness Podcast, Dan is joined by Jeff Kryglik to discuss Strongman Training and how to prepare for events without access to strongman apparatuses.





    Jeff Kryglik grew up in Rosedale in Baltimore County and now lives in Perry Hall. He is an ISSA certified personal trainer, Strongman competitor with over 25 competitions. (Podiums in all but 5), 3 national level shows. 2018 OSG 90KG division (Worlds), State deadlift and overhead press records. (Not current except for axle in 90kg division in NY), & Won Maryland's Strongest Man in the 200lb weight class in 2019. He has been lifting for 20 years and has been training/coaching people for 8 years. In college Jeff played linebacker at Salisbury University, noting his love for strength training has got him where he is today. You can find Jeff on Instagram @jeff_from_insta

    Anthony “Tony” Pedrotti: Defining “Functional” Training and “Sports Specific” Training

    Anthony “Tony” Pedrotti: Defining “Functional” Training and “Sports Specific” Training

    In this episode of the Brawn Body Health and Fitness Podcast, Dan is joined by Anthony "Tony" Pedrotti to discuss functional and sports specific training, in particular, relating to lacrosse.


    Pedrotti serves as a sport performance coach for the University’s men’s lacrosse, women’s ice hockey, and women’s tennis programs. He works closely with the coaching and sports medicine staffs to develop practice plans to reduce injuries, aid in return-to-play instructions, and optimize student-athlete performance with the use of GPA and accelerometer devices. Prior to Syracuse, Pedrotti was the head strength and conditioning coach at Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Maryland from 2018 until August of 2022. There he oversaw all aspects of strength and conditioning for all 28 Mustang athletic teams. Pedrotti developed weightlifting programs to improve performance and reduce the potential for injury, while also creating nutrition presentations to educate student-athletes on nutrition’s impact on performance. Pedrotti aided the athletic training staff in recovery and rehabilitation methods, in addition to upkeep of the varsity weight room. From April 2015 until January 2018, Pedrotti served as the head of strength and conditioning at SUNY Maritime College in Throggs Neck, New York. Additionally, Pedrotti was the run game coordinator and offensive line coach for the Privateers’ football program. He oversaw all aspects of strength and conditioning for every sport program through sport-specific plans, nutrition plans, and dynamic warmups. He managed the weight room through technique instruction. On the gridiron, Pedrotti helped recruiting across the state of New York, bringing in All-Conference talent, while helping the program set every major school offensive record.Pedrotti earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from nearby SUNY Cortland in 2012. He later earned his Master of Arts degree in teaching from Bethany in 2015 before his second master’s degree in exercise science with a concentration in human performance from Concordia University of Chicago in 2020.     Dr. Kyle Richmond: Mobility Training and Warmup Misconceptions

    In this episode of the Brawn Body Health and Fitness Podcast, Dan is joined by Dr. Kyle Richmond to discuss mobility training and warmup misconceptions, including the use of stretching, the FRC principles he applies clinically, and more.


    Dr. Richmond received his bachelor's degree in biomedical science from the prestigious National University of Health Sciences, followed by his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic, where he graduated with honors. Throughout his education, he attended countless seminars and courses to further his clinical expertise.
    In addition to his academic credentials, Dr. Richmond has also spent ten years coaching CrossFit, small group classes, and one-on-one personal training for all age groups. His goal has always been to combine his passion for coaching fitness with his education in human movement to help his patients achieve their health and wellness goals.
