Episode 21 - Dr. Mitch Anderson

Episode 21 - Dr. Mitch Anderson

Have you ever found yourself looking at a successful person thinking... "their life seems perfect" or  "its easy for them because they are so successful" or "they are so lucky". I know that I have. Sometimes I look at athletes and think that their life must me so easy, surely they don't have the problems that I have.

Just because someone is successful doesn't mean  that their life is easy, that they dot have their own set of challenges to face. Join me as I talk to Dr. Mitch Anderson about the challenging moments in his life that nobody saw. Sometimes we see all the successes without seeing or appreciating the struggle that sits behind each successful moment.

Mitch's achievements are truly incredible (below is a taste for you)

    World 12h Record (491km) March 2017
    World 24h Record (894kn) April 2018
8-time Hawaiian Ironman competitor (best placing 11th overall)
Bike course records: IM WA, IM OZ, Geelong 70.3, Strongman Japan
    30-time Ironman finisher
    Winner Ironman WA 2005
    Winner Strongman Japan 2009
Tour de Crawf Melbourne to Perth ride 3600km in 3 weeks (2013)
    Five–time University Blue award (cycling).

But it is not his sporting achievements that define him. Mitch is a ripper bloke who is just like you and me. He deals with the same setbacks and feelings that we all do at times. His ability to push through those moments is inspiring to say the least. Quitting is not an option no matter how hard it gets.

    Episode 20 - Fiona Kuss

    Episode 20 - Fiona Kuss

What an amazing women!  When Fiona heard that she had breast cancer it was almost too much for her to bear.  I couldn't imagine what it must have felt like to hear that diagnosis.

Sometimes life throws us a massive curveball. We are not defined by what challenges come our way. What defines us is how we respond to those challenges. Fiona's response to her cancer diagnosis is truly inspiring. She has not let it break her, in fact she has allowed the experience to improve her attitude, focus and outlook. When you listen to her story I am sure yours will improve as well.

    Episode 19 - Cory Weissman

    Episode 19 - Cory Weissman

We will all meet people in our lives that have an impact on us that is indescribable. They impress you in a way that is hard to put into words. That is how I feel about meeting Cory Weissman. Cory has helped me think very differently about the personal day to day challenges that I face, and I am sure he will have the same effect on you.

A budding basketball star in his high school years, amassing an amazing 1000 points before finishing high school, Cory seemed to have the world at his feet. That was until his world came crashing down on March 26th 2009.

His relentless attitude to succeed in spite of the challenges he was facing is truly something to behold. As you listen to Cory’s story I encourage you to look at your own lives. Cory teaches us that we can treat our challenges like any opponent that we have in sport. When we work hard enough we can win.

    Episode 18 - Brock Stanfield

    Episode 18 - Brock Stanfield

One of the most amazing young men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting!

Brock was born with 1 arm that was not the same as the other. This provides him with a significant hurdle to get over almost every time he tries something new. Now 15 years old, Brock does not let his 'smaller' arm stop him from attempting and succeeding at whatever he puts his mind to. We all have our own challenges, but Brock certainly doesn't see his as a limitation. How do you view your challenges?

    Episode 17 - Dean Nicholson

    Episode 17 - Dean Nicholson

    Find A Different Way!

    What a legend :)

Sometimes we may try to do something a certain way, and it doesn't work. Dean is a great example of someone who doesn't accept that there is only one way to do something. Just because we fail the first time doesn't mean we don't try again, another way.

Despite being blind since birth Dean has achieved more than many people who can see perfectly!

Life is too short to focus on the crap stuff. Take a leaf out of Dean's book when you look at your own situation and laugh your way through the tough experiences life offers us. Enjoy listening to deans light hearted view of his life, it will definitely make you look a little differently at your own.

    Episode 16 - Davina Grant

    Episode 16 - Davina Grant

    My favourite guest yet!

Yep, I interview my wife. Why? Because she is a dead set ripper AND because she has an incredible story that I want to share with the world.

Everybody, at some point, deals with tough things in their lives. Listen as Davina shares her story of really acting in spite of life’s challenges.

Crap stuff happens to everyone. As Davina says, “easy isn’t the way we are going to grow”. But when we choose to look outward with the view of helping other people (no matter what we are experiencing), it is then that we will find true happiness.

What can you do to lift someone elses spirit today? You might just end up lifting your own as well.
