    SURAJ [ਸੂਰਜ]

As the sun rises, the darkness of the night vanishes, thieves and thugs hide themselves, owls and bats go to slumber and the stars disappear and so it was with the advent of the Gurus, that the rays of their spiritual light spread all around dispelling the darkness of ignorance." The meaning of Suraj is Sun. To bring in light, and positively in our lives. This musical piece portrays an understanding of our roots.

    Kes: From a Kaur's Perspective

    Kes: From a Kaur's Perspective

Kes is a taboo topic in our Punjabi/ Sikh community today. In this podcast, Baani Kaur, 22, joins us and discusses issues, ideas, and experiences. We cover (1) The Importance of Kes (2) How our Kaurs can uplift each other (3) Empowering Kaurs and Singhs to keep Guru’s roop (4) Address double standards with Kes in our society.

Before listening to the podcast, identify the term, Self-worth which is your extension of Love for Waheguru. You should feel the Naam in every part. When you pull a strand of your hair and it hurts, the root is alive. There is energy present. It comes from within. Embody your internal identity, Gratitude which is an honor and gift. Altering the natural state. Sacrifices from the panth. Natural. Acceptance of Hukam. The light within you. These are all lenses to start from to identify the energy of Guru’s roop.

About the speaker: Baani Kaur is from the sunny state of Arizona! From a young age, the first shabad her mom taught her was ਤਾਤੀ ਵਾਉ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥, which inspired values for Divine beauty, connection, gratitude, unwavering faith, contentment, trust, lifelong growth, and compassionate love. She just recently graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s and a Masters in Computer Science. She currently works as a Software Engineer at Optum of UnitedHealth Group in Illinois. By remembering the Oneness in everything, she strives to spread joy, empathy, and kindness through her daily actions.

    Creating your Sangat

    Creating your Sangat

The idea of Sangat is referred to as Sat-Sangat (fellowship of the seekers of truth) and Sadh-Sangat (a congregation of a Sadh or Sant). The word Sangat has been in use since the time of Guru Nanak (1469-1539). Sangat is referred to as the Sikh brother/sisterhood establishment. Creating your Sangat is so crucial because it shapes you as an individual. Your Sangat is like your small community/family, who supports you and fills you with positive energy. The main objective of this podcast is to help you find and create your Sangat. Many out there struggle with knowing who their real Sangat is, and how your Sangat can impact you. In this podcast, I have two special guests, Bani Kaur, 13, and Simur Singh, 20. They both share their experience and advice. I would like for all of you to share this podcast with other brothers and sisters.

Gaining Self Confidence ~ The Beauty in Me

The main objective of this podcast is that I want you to know it is okay not to "fit in" to this mold that society has made for us and be content with yourself. Many girls aren't being accepted either by our community, friends, or even their own family. I want to step in and help them in their journey of being content with themselves regardless of the backlash they are receiving.

I started a platform called "Sikhnificance" is a free space platform to discuss our Sikh issues in society. A facet of communication will be through podcasts.
