Natalie Lue expands her popular blog Baggage Reclaim into podcast form with a weekly show about how to live and love with more self-esteem by unpacking, decluttering and tidying up our excess emotional baggage. It's time to reclaim yourself and experience more love, care trust and respect.

Ep. 276: New Year, New No, and Recognising the Dark Side of People Pleasing

In the final episode of 2022, Natalie shares a deleted chapter from her forthcoming book, The Joy of Saying No. She breaks down how, to escape the chains of the roles we play and trying to keep up with our and other people's often unrealistic expectations and projections, we might act out behind the scenes, go rogue on the version of ourselves that people have come to expect from us, lash out, or experience the toll of the chronic stress of our people-pleasing habit.

Eye opening

Finding the podcast and blog was an absolute breakthrough in my personal growth. There is a lot of stuff out there, a lot of advice but baggage reclaim is freakishly relatable and just does not leave any room for vagueness and treating yourself in a less-than-you-deserve way. It’s like having an amazingly emotionally competent and honest friend who always has your back, in digital form.

Light in my darkest moments

I’ve been following Natalie for years and can confirm there is usually either a blog post or podcast episode that relates directly to me when I’m having some kind of issue in my life. From listening on repeat immediately before, during and after my biggest breakup to helping to build myself up in the aftermath, Natalie has been in the background, keeping me going. Would love to meet her in London one day as I already feel as though she’s been one of my best friends (hope that doesn’t sound too crazy!). can recommend for anyone on their journey to taking better care of themselves and accepting themselves in a world that teaches us not to.
