[58] 40a - The Delay of the Kingdom

We’ve studied the birth, life, death and resurrection of Christ. We learnt why it was necessary for Jesus to be born as a man, live a perfectly sinless life, die as the perfect substitute for mankind’s sin and then be raised to life with a resurrection body. Jesus accomplished most of what He came to do. However, there was one task that He didn’t complete at His first coming: He didn’t restart the non-functioning Kingdom of God. In fact, as we will learn, He delayed it because the majority of the Jewish people and their leaders rejected Him as Messiah. So Jesus began to describe how He would delay the return of the Kingdom and start an interim period instead. What will this interim period be like?
