Share Your Secrets is a podcast by Bounceback Food CIC that celebrates the diversity of food, art and community! Episodes include interviews with the artists and organisations involved in the production of the Secret Dishes From Around the World fundraising cookbook trilogy, insights about community and culture from people in the featured countries and updates from Bounceback’s Community Cookery School team in Manchester as they scale up their fight against food poverty across the UK.

    In the latest episode of Share Your Secrets we hear from people in some of the cities where Bounceback Food CIC have been batch cooking and distributing meals to those most impacted by the cost of living crisis this winter. Host Miriam Rendell talks to Grace Namwanje, a GP social prescribing link worker in Dudley, about how Bounceback Food CIC's outreach work in the West Midlands has supported the development of a weekly cookery class for migrant women and survivors of domestic abuse at Creheart Community Centre. Jo Gordon, director of My Sisters' Kitchen, shares how her social enterprise provides training, employment and sense of belonging to some of the most disadvantaged women in Sunderland. Teresa Smare from St Vincent's in Newcastle explains how the organisation supports vulnerable individuals and families in the North East area.

    This week on Share Your Secrets, Duncan speaks to Ashlynn Wardle from Able Arts CIC about setting up a social enterprise during a pandemic. Bryony Murray, co-founder of Bazooka Arts, explains how the name for their artwork ‘The Sharing Table’ not only describes their piece for the Ukrainian section of the book but also the fundamental way in which they work. Artist Gail Robinson explains her idea to use lino-cutting and printing for the piece and how it has led to further projects. Plus Bazooka Arts member Karen Calpin bravely shares her story about what a lifeline the arts charity has been for her.
