31-year-old Joan Risch was educated, successful, and by all accounts a loving wife and mother. She seemed to have everything together. But sometimes things are not always as they seem.
Something sinister happened to Joan on the afternoon of October 24, 1961. Her young daughter stumbled upon a troubling scene, and investigation would reveal puzzling clues including some strange items in the trash, a questionable collection of library books, and some sightings of a woman thought to be Joan in distress.
