_The *DUG* Series # 256_ _*Men & Money*_ (Exodus 35- 36) For our Meditation today we want to consider the theme- _*Stop Bringing your Offerings*_ 😊 I am sure most of us would be shocked if we heard an announcement at Church saying, please- _*Stop Bringing your Offerings*_ 😊 As you think of that, consider our text for today's meditation- _They received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary. And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning. So all the skilled workers who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left what they were doing and said to Moses, ‘The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the LORD commanded to be done.’ Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: ‘No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.’ And so the people were restrained from bringing more, because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work._ Exodus 36:3‭-‬7 How amazing! _Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: ‘No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary._ As I think of this passage I learn a few very important lessons on giving to the LORD- 1) _Giving *REGULARLY*_- The Bible says- _And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning._ Note- ✓ Continued Bringing ✓ Morning after Morning 2) _Giving *FREELY*_- Note the Bible says that they brought *Freewill* offerings 3) _Giving *GENEROUSLY*_- The Bible records that the skilled workers said to Moses- _The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the LORD_ What is incredible is that this is an account about the children of Israel who had just been freed from bondage after 430 years. This was a time when they could have looked at the- *Past* & said- we have lost everything *Future* & said- we have no clues what the future holds *Present* & said- hold on to the little we have *But*- they gave- 1) _*REGULARLY*_ 2) _*FREELY*_ 3) _*GENEROUSLY*_ and so Moses had to give orders- _*Stop Bringing your Offerings*_ 😊 As we begin our day my prayer is that we would allow the HOLY SPIRIT to examine the way in which we give towards the work of the LORD. May we always give- 1) _*REGULARLY*_ 2) _*FREELY*_ 3) _*GENEROUSLY*_ Have a wonderful day!

_The *DUG* Series # 257_ _*Men & Money*_ (Exodus 35- 36) For our Meditation today we want to consider the same passage of Scripture that we looked at yesterday. I am sure you remember our theme! _*Stop Bringing your Offerings*_ 😊 Take a moment to ponder the text as I read it for you- _They received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary. And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning. So all the skilled workers who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left what they were doing and said to Moses, ‘The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the LORD commanded to be done.’ Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: ‘No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.’ And so the people were restrained from bringing more, because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work._ Exodus 36:3‭-‬7 Yesterday we looked at this section from the perspective of the Giver. Today we will consider it from the perspective of the Receivers. What kind of *Receivers* were these Servants of GOD? 1) _*HONEST*_- Here are a few important lessons we can learn from these Servants of GOD- ✓ They carefully accounted for all that Moses gave them ✓ They used the money wisely & judiciously ✓ They were constantly monitoring the fund position ✓ They told Moses to ask the people of GOD to stop giving. 2) _Not *HOARDERS*_- One very important lesson from this text is that the Leaders did not *HOARD* the offerings of GOD'S people. They could have easily said- Let the people keep on giving & we can grow our balances! Who knows we may need the money in the future! 3) _*HONOUR*_- I find that these Servants of GOD *HONOURED* GOD in the way they diligently used the money from the people of GOD just for the fulfillment of the purposes of GOD. Funds given for a Purpose- Used for that Purpose. ✓ GOD'S Word was *Fulfilled* ✓ The Leaders laboured *Faithfully* with GOD'S resources ✓ People's giving resulted in great *Fruitfulness* As we begin our day let us allow the HOLY SPIRIT to search our lives! What kind of Receivers are we? My prayer is that we would be 1) _*HONEST*_- 2) _*HOARDERS*_ (not) 3) _*HONOUR*_ God Have a great day!

_The *DUG* Series # 258_ _*Men & Money*_ (Exodus 35- 36) After writing the Devotionals of the past two days, I just could not go past this passage without sharing a couple of thoughts on Moses and his leadership. I am sure you remember we are looking at the theme- _*Stop Bringing your Offerings!*_ 😊 Take a moment to ponder the text as I read it for you one more time- _They received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary. And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning. So all the skilled workers who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left what they were doing and said to Moses, ‘The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the LORD commanded to be done.’ Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: ‘No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.’ And so the people were restrained from bringing more, because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work._ Exodus 36:3‭-‬7 We've looked at this passage from the perspective of the- ✓ Giver ✓ Receiver Today we'd like to look at it from the perspective of the- ✓ Leader Moses was the reason why- ✓ People Gave ✓ People were Genuine What kind of a *Leader* was Moses? 1) _*MOTIVATOR*_- People ✓ Were Confident ✓ Co-operated ✓ Contributed gladly & generously in response to Moses' leadership 2) _*MENTOR*_- The workers were- ✓ Honest ✓ Hardworking ✓ Honoured GOD under the leadership of Moses. He was a great *Mentor* for the men & women who worked alongside him. 3) _*MANAGER*_- Moses was an exceptional *Manager* of- ✓ People ✓ Possessions ✓ Power He led & managed in a truly GOD honouring manner. As we begin our day let us allow the HOLY SPIRIT to search our lives. _What kind of *LEADERS* are we?_ 1) _*MOTIVATOR*_- 2) _*MENTOR*_ 3) _*MANAGER*_ Have a wonderful LORD'S day!
