Watchings (of the Night)

Watching are consider among the fasts, but they do not pertain to refraining from food or drink. They are tied to spiritual vigilance, keeping the soul focused on God in Christ. The Old Testament spells this out in various ways, and then watchings come to their full fruition in the texts of the New Testament writers. Check out this episode to learn more.
