Falling Back In Love With Life: How To Learn To Love Yourself Again w/ Briana

Briana is a daughter, sister, friend, and military brat. I met Briana, of course, at SHAPE. She was like me, a daughter of a single mother household. We became friends very quickly. Today, we talk about life after high school and how the change in environment affected her mental health. She felt that she was behind in life because all of her friends were getting married and having kids. She felt like a failure in the eyes of society. But COVID changed everything for her. During that time, she got to sit with her and understand the real reason she was feeling the way she was about herself and the life she was living at the time. Today, she shares how she learned to love herself again and continue to live her life as it comes instead of as she was expected to live it. This is her dandelion story. In this episode, we discuss: * Her life has a military brat * The culture shock she experienced after high school * How going to an HBCU helped her embrace her blackness * Why COVID helped her learn how to love herself again * Building a relationship with her father Mental Health Resources: Suicide Prevention: https://www.cdc.gov/suicide/index.html Headstrong Therapy: https://theheadstrongproject.org/get-help/ Follow Me: Stories Of A Dandelion Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/storiesofadandelion/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcNFPBbHV06qxG6PYA0QHow Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1SuGgmBW88gL68YI8scR2E
