This week I had the pleasure of interviewing the AMAZING Noëlly Sam, a mompreneur living in Montreal, Canada. I met her over 10 years ago during Montreal Fashion Week and have seen her become one of the first influencers in Montreal even before the term became popular. She is now the founder/CEO of the women-focused consulting firm Unfolden Media and has a beautiful daughter. In this episode we discuss: -Life as a blogger in the early blogging days -How she was able to build a brand and become an "influencer" before the term became popular -How she found strategic ways to monetize her services in the fashion industry -The importance of relationships and lunches -Twitter and how she used it to grow her brand, notably through the hashtag #FashionUnfold -Why she shifted her business for it to be geared towards women -Challenges she's had to face throughout her career and also, as a new mom. Before Noëlly Sam became an entrepreneur, she had her share of obstacles to overcome. From surviving the civil war in Congo (Brazaville), immigrating to Canada, learning a new culture and language and embracing cold winters, which led to being unsure about what studies to pursue in University, to messing up her credit score, to going from jobs to jobs to find her path, Noëlly’s story is the perfect example of how anybody can overcome the obstacles in their life and find a way to achieve their goals through determination, faith and discipline. She is a Lifestyle entrepreneur, personal brand consultant and podcast host. A former high-performance corporate manager and top Canadian Fashion Blogger, she is the Founder of Unfolden Media, a women-focused platform on a mission to empower ambitious women and help them make an impact.
