Mothering While Having P.T.S.D.

Mothering While...

No one is exempt from neither Trauma nor having Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  And NO, you do not have to be military or a veteran to have PTSD. Trauma can be physical and sexual abuse, family and domestic violence, a serious car accident, and or a natural disaster.  As a mother with PTSD your battle is everyday, with support (friends and family), self compassion, spiritual direction, therapy, and more you are closer to peace.

I had the honor of sharing this platform this week with guest co host, Kathy Parker.  She has written pieces for different online platforms such as The Mighty, (where I first found her). She is a writer, poet, blogger, and author. She published her first book last year, A Heart Unravelled a book of poetry documenting her personal journey of breaking and mending, surviving to loving, and the courage to rise from the darkest places. Kathy is a survivor of sexual abuse and shares her journey of healing with us. Just speaking with her gave me courage and a few Aha moments in my personal journey of healing.

I strongly believe this topic is so layered and complex that I know this will not be the only episode.
