90,000 Hours is a podcast exploring how people really feel about what they do. Loosely inspired by Studs Terkel's seminal 1974 book "Working," 90,000 Hours peers into a diverse cross section of working lives to reveal how most jobs differ from what you'd imagine; the complexities lurking in the day-to-day; and ultimately, the unexpected ways that work unites us in the human experience.
Beautifully paced and edited into a first person narrative style with musical textures, this "podcast about working" ends up being about more than just work, including common themes such as separation of self-worth from our occupations, labor politics, imposter syndrome, and so much more.

Camille Ikalina Atwood is a flight attendant living and working in San Francisco, CA. Camille talks about finding consistency in the chaos of day to day life on an aircraft; embracing an alter ego and rejecting "waitress in the sky" stereotypes; changes to rampant industry-wide sexism and ageism; and how the practice of remaining calm reflects and informs her own life.

Ray: Paleontologist
Ray Mann is a Paleontology Field Crew Leader living in Asheville, NC. After retiring from a career in software engineering, a trip to Marmath Research Foundation with his daughter reignited a forgotten childhood fascination with dinosaurs and paleontology. Ray fell into volunteer position leading field crews and became unexpectedly indispensable at Marmath, as well as the Gray Fossil Site in TN. Ray talks about the risks, as well as the meditative delicacy involved in digging for fossils; the dogma in tradition that holds the field back from progress, and the philosophy of service to the greater scientific community that inspires him to go forward.

Megan Lynn Kott is a watercolor artist and illustrator, primarily of cats and other critters, living and working in Milwaukee, WI. Her published works include Cat Tarot, "Unfamiliar Familiars," "Cats are the Worst, and "Pawmistry: Unlocking the Secrets of the Universe with Cats."
