Anyone who has been been involved in the Christian-atheist rumblings on Twitter for any amount of time may be familiar with the name SJ Thomason. 

By trade, SJ Thomason is a professor of business administration with a PhD in the field. 

However, SJ Thomason is also a Christian apologist, and the reason I juxtapose the two is that Christian apologetics is this very unique cultural phenomenon in which people who are eminently book-smart in areas not related to religious belief, for some reason suddenly jettison intelligence and critical thinking skills to avoid uncomfortable conclusions about their faith. 

So in light of this, about a year ago, SJ released a 2 minute video stating 10 reasons to not be an atheist.

In this episode of "The Tall Friendly Atheist Dad Podcast", I respond to the video taking over atheist YouTube - Redeemed Zoomer’s ALL atheist arguments answered in 10 minutes. I’ve seen Prophet Of God respond, I’ve seen Matt Dillahunty respond, so I thought I may as well get on in the action and give my own take on what is, frankly, an excellent demonstration of the power of uncritically accepting religious dogma and the effect it has on a person’s critical thinking skills.



The way the challenges to atheism are presented in this video is that the straw man atheist will present a challenge, and Redeemed Zoomer will answer that challenge both with spoken word and images and text on the screen, so if there is something I say in this audio format that doesn’t make sense, it may because I’m referring to something on screen rather than what was spoken.

Episode 92 is a short one, and probably no better than my other episodes.

Justin Brierly decided to explain why the virgin birth of Jesus isn't a fairytale (his words, not mine):

1. Matthew and Luke documented it, and Luke in particular states he interviewed eyewitnesses.

2. The pre-marital conception of Jesus wasn't made up because it would have been embarasssing.

3. Justin's idea of his deity becoming human is different to how the Ancient Greek's imagined deities becoming men - therefore the whole thing is legit.
