Airbrushed
Produced by Hot Press, this six-part series will focus on half-a-dozen revolutionary female figures from Ireland, going back to the era during which Irish independence was established and the new State took shape: Dr Kathleen Lynn, Eva Gore-Booth, Helena Moloney, Margaret Skinnider, Helen Chevenix and Elizabeth O'Farrell. Fronted by Niamh Browne and Alana Daly-Mulligan, Airbrushed: Irish Revolutionary Queer Women is designed to give listeners an insight into the private lives of some of the formidable women who shaped the country – including Chief Medical Officer of the Irish Republican Army, Dr. Kathleen Lynn; schoolteacher turned sniper Margaret Skinnider; President of the Irish Trades Union Congress, Helena Mary Molony; and the woman who negotiated the the conditions of surrender in 1916, Elizabeth O'Farrell. There will also be episodes exploring the less militant, but no less important social justice champions from that tumultuous time, Helen Chevenix and Eva Gore-Booth. Hosted on Acast.
