The Portrait (छाया चित्र)

Akbar Birbal Stories- Hindi Moral Tales

Once a wicked merchant called in a painter and asked him to make an exact replica portrait of himself with the condition that if it is any different than his true face, he will not pay a penny. When the painter came back to show his work, the merchant tweaked his facial impressions and kept troubling the painter needlessly. The poor painter eventually saught Birbal's help to teach the merchant a good lesson.
