I’ve invited Adam Hatch to come to chat with us about how he has successfully applied critical thinking to the curriculums for both Englist and Taipei Teen Tribute.
Taipei Teen Tribune is Taiwan’s premier English-language student commentary publication. Part blog, part newsletter, part reporting, Taipei Teen Tribune is a platform for students in Taiwan to write about the topics they care about.
Taipei Teen Tribune is operated by Englist, Taipei’s top college prep and academic writing program. Taipei Teen Tribune writers are usually picked from Englist writing classes after they have developed a strong foundation in writing through the program’s rigorous training. We are excited to feature stories by four selected young journalists from Taipei Teen Tribute on our show for the rest of the month instead of my usual news segment. I can’t wait to see what they have in store!
雖然台灣教育環境越來越重視英文雙語課程，而且台灣學生學英文的總時數應該算是非常高的。雖然學校成績單上面是合格的，但如果是按照全球英語能力指標，台灣的英文成績還只是屬於「中間偏後」的。那為什麼明明成績單上是及格的，但是真正在日常生活或者是工作求學領域上需要用到英文的時候，台灣人反而沒有辦法應對呢？今天邀請到Englist & Taipei Teen Tribute 的創辦人 Adam Hatch來一起跟我們談談一個重要的關鍵就是批判性的思考對於提升英文能力，讓孩子們能夠發自內心的用自己的分析能力邏輯師為發展來正確的學英文呢？
Taipei Teen Tribune 是台灣第一個由學生撰寫的英文評論刊物，內容涵蓋部落格、周報和新聞專欄，題材皆由學生自由發想、研究和撰寫，經營團隊為以學術英文寫作課程聞名的 Englist。
Englist提供大學預備和學術英文寫作課程，是台北首屈一指，專注於透過寫作鍛鍊批判性思考的培訓學院。Taipei Teen Tribune的撰稿作家大多為Englist高級寫作課程的學生，在多年紮實的寫作訓練下，得以在Taipei Teen Tribune上發表文章。我們將邀請四位 由 Adam 指導的 Taipei Teen Tribute 的小記者們在接下來的4個禮拜跟我們一起分享他們的新聞專欄。Very Exciting Stuff！
