Trump’s US Iron Dome: can it really work?

Donald Trump’s executive order to create an American version of Israel’s Iron Dome missile defence system has prompted Russia to accuse the US of militarising space. But is it even possible to scale up the Iron Dome to span the whole of North America? Missile defence specialist Masao Dahlgren from the Center for Strategic and International Studies explains how Trump’s plans are different to Reagan’s ‘Star Wars’ initiative, and why the president’s expectations are more realistic.
