In this episode Ilona talks about being driven out of a school she was working in based on a 10 minute assessment that wasn’t even accurate. She had to defend and prove herself purely because a headteacher took a disliking to her and decided to make her life hell.
“ I've never had any problems with any job before. I think I learned a fair few things, right? I learned, I think a really wonderful one is that self belief, like, you can't touch me mentally. You can't, I believe in myself.
And that self-efficacy and being like, Not listening, and that's really important because other people's opinions of you. Are irrelevant. It's your opinion of yourself and you've really got to work hard at making sure you love yourself. You believe in yourself and, And you trust yourself no matter what.
Yeah. Doesn't mean you're perfect. I'm not. But it means that I can just sit comfortable in this, in the, in the fact that I know that I did my best. Yeah. And I don't have to take on board other people's feedback. Yeah. If I want to and I want to improve in certain ways, that's up to me, but I don't have to take.
Anyone else's opinion of me. And that's a fantastic gift to know I've got inside of me. ”
