036: How to Design Your Summer in a Way that Leaves you Feeling Present, Rested and Fulfilled instead of Overwhelmed and Exhausted

Summer is an incredible time of year. When I think of summer there’s an endless list of summertime memories- sunshine, suntans, picnics, boat days and ice cream. Honestly the list is endless. However, each passing summer there seems to be increasing amounts of societal pressure for parents to create the most epic summer experiences ever for our kids. I’ve totally been guilty of packing our summer schedule with all kinds of activities in the pursuit of creating the best summer memories (because we only have so many summers with our kids right?). However, I noticed it left me feeling overwhelmed, stressed and exhausted which is the opposite of what I envisioned for my summers. Trying to keep up with all the activities felt like more of a chore and left me yearning to stay home and relax. If you’re heading into summer already overwhelmed with the ‘to-dos’ or the ‘busyness’ of the schedule then sister this episode is for you. Don’t forget that you are in control of what kind of summer you get to create for your kids and the only thing that matters most is a mom that is rested, fulfilled and happy because that is what they will remember most.
