04. Case of Giulia Tofana: Female Serial Killer - قضية جوليا طوفانا: قاتلة متسلسلة

Being a women in the 17th century was a struggle. With no rights, no opportunities, no ways to make a living, many chose sex a work as a means to survive. Most chose marriage, hoping it would be a barricade against the society's constant judgment. However, as if being a woman wasn't already bad enough, becoming a wife was worse. 

With constant abuse from their husbands, and no way out of the marriage, many wives would accept and endure their fate. Some; however, would visit Guilia Tofana's cosmetics shop for her best-seller: a vial of ACQUA TOFANA.

We dedicated this episode to talk about violence against women contributing to the 16 days activism campaign (Nov 25 -Dec 10) launched by the UN to End Violence against Women. This initiative calls for action to raise awareness about the issue in order to help prevent it and eliminate it.
