046. Busting Common Grief Myths with Shea Wingate, Part 1

Life With Grief Podcast Podcast

Let’s bust some common grief myths today, my friend!

We’re chatting with Shay Wingate. She’s a Licensed Therapist and Grief Coach, and a fellow griever just like me (and probably you!). She has actually graced the podcast in the past, and I’m super excited to have her back for this little series that we're doing on grief myths we constantly hear about as Grief Educators, and grievers ourselves.

We wanted to make these episodes as bite-sized for you as possible, so this little series is going to be split into three parts. Today is part one of three—stay tuned for more coming soon!

Shea created this awesome Grief Myths Mini Series (details are linked below!), but with that in mind, we thought this would be an awesome opportunity to come together and dispel some of these.

We’re having like a fun, light-hearted, high level conversation and covering these myths today:

  • Everything happens for a reason
  • Time heals all wounds
  • There are 5 stages of grief
  • Your loved one wouldn't want you to be sad

These myths are things that can really get us stuck in our grief, so I think it's really worth talking about! Let’s dig in…
