Unfinished Business: The Black Pack Cinematic Universe
What If Tyler Perry Had a Writers' Room is a podcast hosted by VSB co-founder, Panama Jackson, brought to you by The Blacktastic Podcast Network. Each episode, Panama and a guest will break down one of Tyler Perry's non-Madea films, trying to ascertain if a writers' room—something Tyler Perry famously spoke about not needing (per se)—could have, would have fixed any of the glaring issues in his films. Maybe we can make the films better, maybe not, but we're going to have a good time finding out!

Lived up to my high expectations

Hilarious.
Excellent premise but...

I was so excited by this podcast because I love Panama Jackson’s writing and hate Tyler Perry’s movies. The first episode about a Fall from Grace falls short. The conversation is disorganized and many of the most improbable parts of the movie were missed. As a bonus, as a criminal attorney, I wish he would have had an attorney on to discuss the legal aspects because they missed the mark on the legal commentary.

If you’re here because you enjoy what Panama writes, says, or comments on then I wouldn’t expect to be disappointed. Shoutout to VSB!
The Best Thing I Never Knew I Needed

You know how you’re at a restaurant and you know you’re going to get a quality meal, but the waiter suggests something that takes the meal from what you expected to life changing? Well that’s what this podcast has to offer if you, like me, have pondered the complex inaccuracies of Tyler Perry’s film. The first episode dissects the heavily discussed Perry film “A Fall From Grace” and managed to not only address the foolery that has been highlighted, but dug deep to delve into so many quality tragic moments this movie has to offer (like the fact that an elderly SSI scheme was being conducted in the basement of a duplex home). I hope the back and forth between Panama Jackson (one of my favorite writers who you should check out on Very Smart Brothers if you haven’t already) and his featured guests continues as he reviews future Perry films. Can’t wait for the next episode of this much needed podcast and only pray they review “Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor” which is a film I am convinced has a movie goofs list longer than the script.
