    #117 Overworking, People Pleasing Teachers

I'm so excited to bring you part 1 of my conversation with the incredible Filipa Bellette. As a functional medicine practitioner, clinical nutritionist, and transformational coach, Filipa has been a guiding light for me over the past year as I've navigated my own journey with body burnout. In this episode, Filipa and I dive deep into the critical issue of body burnout that is plaguing so many teachers across Australia. Filipa shares her expertise on the three key symptoms - energy issues, mood challenges, and gut problems - and how these manifest in the teaching profession. We unpack the powerful role that unconscious beliefs and past traumas play in driving teachers to push themselves to the brink. Filipa offers such valuable insights into the cultural and systemic factors within the education system that contribute to this epidemic, as well as the personal patterns and expectations that teachers often bring with them from their own schooling experiences. This conversation is vulnerable, honest, and so incredibly relatable for anyone working in the teaching field. Filipa and I set the stage for part 2, where we'll provide practical strategies and tools for teachers to break free from the cycle of body burnout and reclaim their health, energy and joy. Key Takeaways: Body burnout goes beyond traditional "burnout" and involves physiological symptoms like chronic fatigue, mood issues, and gut problems Unconscious beliefs and past traumas often drive teachers to overwork and neglect self-care The education system's culture and expectations can exacerbate body burnout, but teachers also play a role in their own patterns and high standards Separating identity from work and upgrading from "child" to "adult" mindsets are crucial for teachers to find balance and sustainability I can't wait for you to hear the rest of this powerful conversation next week. Make sure to subscribe so you don't miss part 2!
