#123 – Keeping the Right Spirit with Beth Payton

All of us have at one time or another found ourselves in the midst of a crisis, feeling overwhelmed and lost, like David so often did in the book of Psalms. Even he asked God to renew a right spirit within him; he knew he needed God's help to keep the right attitude in the trials. Maintaining a right spirit isn't just about surviving; it's about thriving, even in the midst of life's difficulties. This episode is a session from the 2024 North Florida Baptist Ladies Conference at Immanuel Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. This lesson was taught by Beth Payton. In this episode, she shares multiple tips to help you stay on the top side through copious Scripture verses paired with her detailed strategies. Her message will show you how to unlock optimism, even when staying focused feels like an uphill battle. #117 – Eliza Hewitt, Hymn Writer, with Abigail Medford

In the days of the famous Fanny Crosby lived one lesser known hymn writer who wrote some of the most beloved hymns we still sing today. Her name may not garner the fanfare of some, but her words live on in our churches every Sunday when we open our hymnals to sing "When We All Get to Heaven," "More About Jesus," and many other soul-stirring songs! In this episode, Tracie and Abigail discuss the life of hymn writer Eliza Hewitt, who had all the excuses not to live a life to its fullest for the Lord. She did not let poor health stop her from putting pen to paper over and over to write words that we sing over one hundred years later. Learn about her passion for teaching Sunday School children and about the many other ways she found to serve Christ. Her story will help you consider when looking at your own service on this earth for God, "Will there be any stars in my crown?" #116 – Tale of Three Sisters with Jan Roueche (Beginning of Season 8)

What if your God-given gift turns out to be not what you thought it would be? What if it was the gift of emptiness or the gift of great loss? Could you accept it and even embrace it to be able to run the race God has planned for you? In this episode, Tracie interviews Jan Roueche, who share her beautiful testimony of God's grace of a life of looking to God even when understanding was not possible. Mother of ten, she has unique insight, having not grown up in a Christian home, of learning to let God lead the way through the ups and downs of life. She shares the remarkable testimonies of herself and her two sisters who, all were saved as young adults, embraced the very different lives God was to give each of them, leaving them each to fully put themselves in the Master's Hand.
