Why Is This Good?

Kristine and John always bring fresh thoughts and thoughtful commentary to their analysis of short stories. It’s a useful and enjoyable listen for writers and readers alike.

Not very thorough but a decent jumping off point. They pick good stories to cover but their analysis is weak.

I listen to this podcast because I love short stories. However, I have no clue how this woman has any authority to talk about literature. She constantly claims to be a “modern reader” but she only says this when it’s obvious she doesn’t understand classic literature. She constantly criticizes famous male authors of the past and she says stuff like “I would love to see how Poe would write this in modern times with our proper training.” Wow. Poe was a better writer than 90% of modern writers. This woman should not have a literary podcast

A great way to break down and understand stories/author’s intentions. Also helpful if you write your own fiction and are looking for ways to expand your style!
