Good content, enough with the adhd

I’m enjoying this content. The Podcaster is clearly accomplished and knowledgeable. Why is it that every high achieving person I know or listen to says they have ADHD? That is so off-putting to me. Yes it is probably hard for you to pay attention and organize everything in your life. Isn’t it hard for all of us? Especially being a mom and having two kids? That doesn’t mean we all have ADHD. It is statistically not possible.
Promotes Behaviorism and Neurotypical Masking

Much of the advice given here is not neurodivergence affirming and is racially insensitive. She stipulates that dyslexia is a disability that deserves accommodations but anxiety is not, never suggesting that parents should be instead searching out root causes of anxiety. Following the advice here would have children masking in order to avoid punishment, parents doling out punishments for children who feel unsafe at school, and school administrations justifying the withholding of federally mandated accommodations in the name of building resilience in disabled kids. This is not a safe space for parents of neurodivergent children. In episode 116, in discussing a study that showed African American women to have lower suicide rates than white men, the host comments that she “almost feels like [her] kids should grow up in the hood” so they’re more competent. She does not distinguish between stress and trauma, between thriving and surviving with resilience.
Helpful for an anxious kid

Wonderful content that is research based and does not focus on over coddling kiddos but shows you how to handle their feelings
Just WOW!
