Learn Italian with Joy of Languages

Always enjoyable listening and learning !

I’ve been listening for a while, and on my last trip to Italy, 3x people thought I was Italian. In Bologna, I got a free Tigelle because the lady thought I was Italian and asked me one too many questions. When I said I’m just learning, she said my accent was great. In Torino a shop worker responded to my question, then asked a follow up question- I was ready with the answer… then he also asked another question… no free stuff there. In Modena, at a sandwich shop - just the little bit I knew, made the trip that much more enjoyable. Hoping next time I go, I can spend a bit more time. Love the pod. A la Proxima. Updated: 2.7.25 So glad I listen to this podcast. I can understand Italian more and more, I usually get the gist of the Italian right off the bat. I’m not always sure how to respond, but I know what’s being said.

I am so glad I found this podcast. I’ve been using Duolingo but I don’t really like their learning style. This podcast is fantastic. I especially love the episodes that go over the verbs and then use them in a conversation that you then break down word by word. It is so helpful and a great way to practice while I’m walking the dog. I also appreciate the cultural tidbits because Duolingo doesn’t have that at all.

This is easily the best language learning podcast I’ve come across for any language I’ve tried to learn. Katie & Matteo explain concepts in a clear way that make them easy to understand. The length of each episode is also perfect. Great for language learning when you’re short on time. Thank you Joy of Languages!
