Saul and Jonathan, beloved and true  Oh,  How the mighty have fallen!   Chorus They were swifter than eagles and stronger than  lions  Oh, how the mighty have fallen  Now the weapons of war, have all run their course The song we are singing is solemn Oh, how the mighty   Oh, how the mighty have     fallen    vs3 “You daughters of Israel, weep over Saul,     who clothed you in scarlet aplenty,     who put ornaments of gold,  with a heart so bold  But his sword did not return empty   The sun stood still, in the midst of the sky  Oh,  How the mighty have fallen! Jonathan my brother, how could you die  Oh,  How the mighty have fallen!   Chorus They were swifter than eagles and stronger than the lions  Oh, how the mighty have fallen  Now the weapons of war, have all run their course The song we are singing is solemn Oh, how the mighty   Oh, how the mighty have fallen
